Characteristics

TRAKBOND-060 (Tex) is a Tapioca Starch Acetate Ester, manufactured by acetylating the starch under carefully regulated conditions of pH, temperature and time. Sufficient Acetyl groups are introduced into the starch molecule to prevent the amylose fraction of starch congealing. Thus the retrogradation tendencies of the parent starch are almost completely eliminated.

* Viscosity data given above is from batches cooked under laboratory conditions. (Cooking in boiling water bath for 30 minutes at 300-350 rpm). Variations may be observed when product is prepared under plant conditions, as the type of cooking and cooking temperature can have significant effect on final viscosity.
